How to Access Nezame-no-Toko from Tokyo

By Train

  • From Tokyo Station, take the JR Chūō Line (Limited Express Azusa or Kaiji) bound for Matsumoto.
  • At Shiojiri Station, transfer to the JR Chūō Main Line bound for Nagoya.
  • Get off at Agematsu Station (about 4.5 to 5 hours total travel time).
  • From Agematsu Station, it’s about 5 minutes by taxi or 20–25 minutes on foot to Nezame-no-Toko.

By Car

  • From central Tokyo, take the Chūō Expressway toward Nagano.
  • Exit at Shiojiri IC, then drive along National Route 19 toward Agematsu.
  • The trip takes about 4.5 to 5 hours by car.
  • Parking is available near the site.

Tips for Visitors

  • Wear comfortable shoes suitable for rocky riverside paths.
  • Early morning or late afternoon visits offer especially scenic views.
